that is a little too light. you can see a strip of the original turkis green where the right front fender bolted up on your car

Hey Bret, it ain't my car, and I don't have a dog in this fight, I just looked for a car that was supposed to be original paint. That's the owners quote, not mine. Wink
Your right about the lame windshield tint, but it has the correct hood crest (black 60-early 63), as well as the correct silver (61 on) colored over rider supports. And I don't know man, the outer wheel color looks like the correct L286 Turquoise white to me.

15. I guess in Utah you should be getting your permit pretty soon if you havent already.
Only advice I will say is get the important things done first that will get it driveable. Then you can finish the restoration and still be able to use it.

Are there more pics of this car? Gotta be the nicest Turkis bug I've seen. I'm thinking of restoring my 1961 to its original Turkis some day, and this picture sure gives me motivation.

Your right, this is the nicest '61 Turkis sunroof you will ever see! It was owned and built by George Meyer here in the Phoenix area. He sold it to a fellow from the east just before barrett Jackson 2 years ago I think. I'm sure he misses it, (especially after he see's this thread) Sad

Thanks guys. That was (hope it still is) a pretty nice car. It was a little too nice to drive, so I sold it while it was still fresh to a guy in Michigan. That's why you see snow in those pics earlier in the thread. I heard he sold it at Auburn Indiana's big auction last year, but I'm not entirely sure...I would love to know who owns it now. I took seven years to build that car because I wanted to get it right. I got my Hot VW feature, won plenty of trophies and had a great time, tons of stories and terrific encounters...no regrets.

Good luck to the father son(s) team...they picked a fun project. Let me know if I can help.

George
