Long story. Based upon this book. http://midtown.net/dragonwing/
It's a "BC" sun shade. ~15 x ~20 footprint. Ten feet high at ridge. Seven feet at sides. The Gentleman who write the book is retired. Think Romanesque. Think Renn Faire. I found Fritz at Well Dressed Tents in Colorado and he sewed this up for me. I have the three panel , as shown, and a two panel , ~10 x ~20 footprint, that can be used in tandem. Six ounce poly/cotton blend fabric.
I also use a 15 x 30 camo poly tarp for the rainy season. NEVER any problem with hazardous conditions. One just has to be smarter than the fire. Set up is done with openings parallel to prevailing winds. It can get smoky but who hasn't had campfire smoke follow them around all night in the wide open. We've had twenty people all snugged up under there. Mine is a copy of the Guy that wrote the book in the above link. My choice of colors was to match the general terrain. No purple and gold or blue and yellow. Nah, olive drab and khaki for me.
Too much bandwidth. Sorry to drift off topic. Thanks for the head nod. _________________ Peace, Regis |

Our setup at Unity. More stuff than we usually bring.
The small tent in background is for the shower, there's a little mesh tent for the cats, the bigger tent was just for space to spread out our stuff and sometimes sleeping in. Camp chairs, table and a mat.
It all fitted into the Rocket Box on top.
(the cats had fun, there were little mice or voles under the tent floor!)

I like looking at different setups and saw this thread. So I will add my own thus moving it back to the top of circulation threads.
I am a big fan of the IKEA battery lanterns

We typically travel with the ‘space and weight’ minimalist approach - REI lightweight/collapsible chairs, Coleman Grill/Stove combo, Kelty rain/sun shade, three medium Rubbermaid totes with kitchen gear - optional equipment depends on destination/location but includes solar panel, ARB awning, ARB Add-A-Room, outdoor HWOD shower + tent. The TF49 typically allows us 2-3 days btwn grocery stops.

Brand new with the correct size holes. Won it in a drawing of lottery tickets at the event for a $10 investment in tickets. Still in the garage awaiting.......
