I haven't seen these sills from Cip1 but they sell some decent aftermarket stuff. Maybe someone else has got some from them and can tell ya a little more on the quality. Quality can be really hit and miss on some of the aftermarket stuff out there. Congrats on the new ride!

No prob. Pay the extra few bucks for the stainless ones oposed to the polished aluminum. They'll stay nice looking longer than the aluminum ones.

If Ottvw sends you to the site I'm assuming he was talking about, I'll see you on the other side.

Yup I did.

I would go with the stainless. Most of the new chromed products are just bad quality.

Are you installing a factory sapphire or going with an aftermarket stereo?

i havent decided. Rolling Eyes I think i might go retro sound. I want vintage og look to fit the car. the sapphire would be my first choice. but one in working condition is a little over my budget unless i get a screamin deal. plus i want AM and FM Smile

So my dad and i made a plan for this car. It was time to get organized:

1. Clean all chrome with cleaner
2. Begin by taking running boards off. Then fenders. Then hood. De-chrome entire car.
3. Buy the body rubber kit: http://www.jbugs.com/product/113-010H.html?Category_Code=vw-bug-body-rubber-kits-1967
4. Buy Rear lid VW script: http://www.wolfsburgwest.com/cart/DetailsList.cfm?ID=113853687k
5. Sand down all the rust and prep for paint.
6. Get cousins’s doors off his car.
7. Get in contact with local painter
8. Paint this thing: Paint Code is L620 Savannah Beige
9. Reinstall with new rubber
10. New carpet: http://www.wolfsburgwest.com/cart/DetailsList.cfm?ID=113863008AZ
11. Rubber floor mats: http://www.jbugs.com/product/113898703B.html?Category_Code=vw-beetle-floor-mats
12. New ebrake boot: http://www2.cip1.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=VWC-113-863-341-B
13. Eventually… Retrosound radio : http://www2.cip1.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=C45-155-115
14. Eventually….http://www2.cip1.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=door+sills&sort=7

Are you just pulling the chrome for paint or are you thinking about shaving all the trim? Deffinately wanna keep the trim.

If you need a paint guy PM me. I can line ya up with a guy down in lacey that does really good work. He's painted quite a few cars in the vw community.

James I almost bought a savannah beige 67 but passed on it because the motor had been replaced because of an engine fire. I really wish I had bought it now though because I love that color. Keep it stock and correct where possible and keep the factory color. That it's for my little purist rant though do what you wish.
