I'm in the process of getting parts ready for a 40 horse rebuild. I want to put cam bearings in an early case. I'm trying to cut costs if possible, so I'm trying to find a shop close by that can take care of a few tasks, one being the cam bearings.

Does anyone know of a place close to south Michigan/ north Ohio? I had a flyer from someone I met at a show last year, but I cant find it anywhere.

There is this place:

Don's Sport Vehicle Sales

130 South Main Street
Perry, MI 48872
(517) 625-1884
donssport.com

Or this place:http://www.automotivemachine.net/

The latter, I'm not sure whether they do ACVW cases, but I have used them for other engine projects. Good work and reasonably priced. Give them a call and see if they do VW stuff.

The former I have not used for machine work, but they build engines and specialize in ACVW. It is a little further north than you may want to go, but reputable. They used to be located at 6mile and Telegraph, which would have been closer, but they moved semi recently.

Thanks man.... I believe the place in Perry is the one I had the flyer for. I met the guy at the vintage show in Yipsi last year.

We're in Milwaukee and I can machine for for cam bearings. If you drove here, I would do it while you wait(as long as the case is clean and ready to go) Or shipping charges aren't much across the lake.
