I'll still paint my keepers the color they were born with, but I can be bought.

I love watching build threads like this...I usually just lurk but once I saw he sprayed it red...I had to chime in...just getting close to finishing a 60 Double Door...inspiration for the final assembly...
Git R Done!
We sold a single cab some time back that was done exactly as you are doing this one...Sealing Wax with a white top. Ended up going to a VW Dealer to sit on the showroom...how cool it would be to see the two of them together! _________________ Cheers!

The bad thing about this project is that you banged it out so quickly. It's been one of my favorite build threads but it went by too fast. |

The new owner would like a mirror on the right side, the hinge pin in the door has not been touched since 1960. Now that is is all painted and shiny I am less than anxious to take a air chisel to the hinge pin. Is there a tool to press those out? I know it's not in my toolbox but then neither was a steering wheel puller a few months ago... |

There is a tool out there that someone rents. I contacted the owner and they said it was being used and the list was 3 deep. Let me know how it goes. As you know, I need to do the same. |

Shame that the airbox wassen't taken apart before paint.
Just a few screws would have made such a difference.

Yeah I should have pulled the screws. Should have gone in and replaced the gasget in the fresh air box. Should have stripped it all out and primed up inside the brow. Should have stripped the drivetrain / suspension and put it on a rotisserie so I could refresh the undercarriage. This bus is being built for a solid driver on a sane budget so it's just a question of how far ya wanna take it. |

low hinge cargo hinge pins are roll pins. they have string in the roll pin to hold oil and have plastic "christmas trees" to plug open holes, top and bottom. roll pins are lots easier to get out than solid pins like high hinge. _________________ Admin note: Bill Passed away - July, 2017

it will work, but it did not work on my hinge. I had to cut my hinge. _________________ I make HWE style roof racks, Jim-Dandy racks, SO-33 metal parts, Dormobile racks, HWE style ladders, engine crank start handles, Westy rack tags, Binz tags, Sundial badges, State of California tags, steering lock electrical covers and single / double cab gate latch friction blocks.
