That's a nice car. I love 67's. I own one now, and have owned a few others in the past. |

The section below the rear window on my 1965 is getting very bad. The rest of the headliner is in good shape and I was thinking of adding a section ofcarpeting there. Can I do this myself or should I get a professional to do it? I am in N. Phoenix AZ if anyone can recommend a place

It really isnt that hard. I'm sure if you did a search on the Samba you would find a step by step on how to clean the metal and glue carpet in. |

Just read through this thread... wow! Larry's a lucky guy all around, you're a very talented craftsman, and the Beetle looks great. Seeing this kind of work and the various things involved makes me want to get out in the garage and get to work!
Thanks for the inspiration! _________________ 1967 Beetle (Family car - 2nd owner) ...What have I gotten myself into?!

On the other hand, if what the OP really wants is a project that'll take up all of his free time for a couple of years, relieve his bank account of many thousands of dollars and frustrate the living hell out of him, then this car is a good place to start. |

I didn't think to do anything special for the 50th birthday for my car.
It's likely I took it out for a beating on the road. The old car loves a nice hard drive as well as I like driving it hard on the wine country roads here.

Having a bug that nice is reason enough to through a party, very creative use for the ringer style washing machine, my grandmother used hers until she passed away in 1993. Not as a cooler though. _________________ Looking for anything from Hal Casey Motors out of Hamburg New York, from license plate surrounds to matchbooks.
