Last month I bought a 1961 double cab out of Iowa, she's really rusty and will need a new frame and much more.
So I found a 1960 bus that was laid on its side for the donor bus to save the double cab.. Let's see how this goes!!!

You never know what another person's definition of rusty is, but those frame pics tell the tale.
Bullet/seamed gate d/c is a good candidate for a "frame-off" restoration. Hopefully the parts bus you picked up will have most of the metal you need. Look foward to seeing your progress.
Here is a good way to brace up the cab to keep it structurally stable. If you position your bracing just right, you can replace the dog legs and fit doors w/o interference. I replaced a frame section on this bus and when I made my final cut through the frame, there was no tension released and everything stayed lined up; worked great.

I got a ton knocked out late tonight. This weekend I'll be able to get the frame finished and ready for the swap, then tons of bracing on the double cab and get it swapped over:) |

Thanks, I don't like wasting good metal, especially original metal. |

Wondered why it went so cheap. Now I see why. Glad I did not get myself into that . |

Finally got everything out of the way and was able to get the frame in place
Now to order metal and start the long process of making it look good again.
