Anyone else in the Northern parts staying indoors and working on van related items that are not your van? Maybe I need another real van project while my van sleeps for the winter.
I started with the lego when it was released in the fall and then bought an Air Cooled Revell off eBay and painted it to match my van with touch up paint. Any other vans to build? And yes I replaced the fuel lines on my new models

Got another AAZ head to play with, rebuild, PnP port match etc. performance cam.
On the scale front, I'm working on a Karmann Gipsy reproduction, using that Revell Vanagon kit, and the re-issued Open Road Camper shell.
It's not a great match, the shell is much larger than the real Gipsy, but I suck at scratch-building... I'll see as it progresses.
I'm also planning a Syncro Westy approximating my own van, also with the Revell kit, and utilizing a Subaru kit drivetrain for the AWD, along the lines of this amazing build;

That is assume. Cutomization is cool and tricky with these models. Alot cheaper then the real thing.
I did my biege one exactly like my van right down to the spark plug wires, painted shocks etc... but I have a 5 star pair of Ferrari Mags off of a Ferrari 355 Spyder I built when I was a kid that I am trying to mod into Carat Alloys to finish it off. The funny thing is they are super wide probably 18 275's so they don't want to stay on my Revell _________________ 1980 Vanagon Cali Import 86,000Miles

They scratch built it using a Vanagon kit, and a Subaru kit. It used to be called kit-bashing, back in the day (of the dinosaurs!). _________________ OK Thang |

Sweet Tires
To do a Subaru kit on the stock Vanagon Revell model would you only need to add the nuts? The Subaru oil Pan _________________ 1980 Vanagon Cali Import 86,000Miles

EBay, or a hobby shop... they have re-released it, and it's available brand-new. I got two older ones that were partial builds cheap.
Go to Toys & Hobbies / model kits section first to cut search time.
Keep an eye out for the tintop versions, too, there's a UN van, ambulance, fire chief van, and don't forget TC's Island Hopper Vanagon from Magnum P.I.
That green Syncro's hi-top was scratch-built... pretty awesome detailing. Notice the fender flares?
Found that in Google Images. _________________ '86 Syncro CHC Top AAZ Turbodiesel
