I have my engine out to find and eliminate all leaks. replacing all seals. I decides to re-torque the heads, so i pulled the rockers. while replacing the rockers i pulled the threads on one of the studs(top nut). I pulled the stud out and replaces it with one from a spare head. It too would not tighten down. Pulled rocker back off, and noticed the stud was seated further down then the other ones. Can i repace the stud and put red locktite on the stud? It is not loose in the block, and does not turn with the nut. |

Not really sure what you are asking. The stud needs to the threaded into the head five turns at least and you could loctite it if you wanted to keep it from turning. |

it looks like the replacement stud went about a1/4" deeper than the other 3. It didnt bottom out. |

You don't need to bottom it out, but do make sure it is turned in at least 5 threads worth. More would be better and Loctite wouldn't hurt either. |
