|

The PO made a pretty nice linkage setup for these. I didn't play with them enough yet to figure out how the linkage goes, but I'd like to see more pics of homemade and custom linkage setups for these carbs. Please don't tell me the carbs are shit and they suck, go get some Webers or Dellortos instead, etc. Just looking for some custom and cool linkages for these carbs, thanks.
Linkage hard to see in the pic I know..

Looks like the standard hexbar style, they just used round stock and its home made. |
Sort of think same thing.... Copy of "hex" bar...

Gotcha, thanks guys. I know from using the stock linkage, they can suck pretty bad. _________________ 1963 Ragtop Bug |

Check out www.lowbugget.com or call him he is very helpful with Kadron's. He will recommend jet sizes and anything else that you may need. Best of all he sells a very simple linkage that works and it adjust very simply. |

Gene berg has a linkage for them. I have one on my 1600 bus engine and it works great.

I made the manifolds as tall as possible, that is why I elected to have the right side go over the top
The axis of the center thingy is at an angle, but the angle does seem to better match the angle the cable comes through, and make the links closer to parallel, so it works out
The links are steel pushrods, the center pivot is a bicycle hub
The cable pulley should prevent the cable breaking next to the clamp, which can be a problem otherwise with an arm rather than pulley, I tried to make a pulley myself but failed , so I just cut a slice of idler pulley

Wow Modok , that's some thinking and innovation right there. Did you have to cut down the fan shroud on the left too? _________________ 1963 Ragtop Bug |

thats wat i plan to experiment on....
im gona be using scat universals
but i have a complete ict hex linkage set...
planning to make a base for the hex bar... centerd according to the shroud.. so it would be offset at the base of the filter (like idf hex) then use berg style Z bent threaded rods to retain travel at left n right side

Is this thread just for dual Kadrons? How about single Kadron? |

if nothing else it's a testament to mig welding
The fan shroud was already modified, that whole "engine" is just a mock up fixture, though I may use the shroud with the kadrons, or not, I have not decided yet |

Max, why did you modify the linkage? Was it not built for Kadrons in the first place?
