Hi - welcome here. I am 61 years old. Just had gall bladder surgey and live in Sacramento California. It is raining here which it does this time of the year every year.
Neat thing about TheSamba is that with the speed of the Internet you can learn about your VW which is something John Muir never thought of. You can also be prodded and insulted if you let any of this gang, including me, find your hot button(s). Now with that said - and there will be many recomendations of books - the green one you really should get - even an older copy in good shape if you can find one because the photos are better and the wiring in color - and lest I forget, my first vw was a bug at age 11 and a 1971 bus when I was 26. I am still waiting however for the VW mechanic fairy in the sky to teach me quickly. But you will find your answers here albeit they will come slower than you want. But if you think of your VW as a journey, you will be left with many pleasant memories. I would suggest hiding your wallet from it. _________________ “Most people don’t know what they’re doing, and a lot of them are really good at it.” - George Carlin |

For anything relating to engine internals and different year engine configurations this is the book we use.
And ratwell.com discusses about everything related to our buses. _________________ 71 Superbug
