Has any one ever seen a 5 HP Briggs and Stratton, bolted to a vw trans?

I'd do that to test a trans if it could shift the load of the rotating mass (also if I had the skill/a welder to make an adaptor with), it's easier to find and fix up a little Briggs than it is to build a full VW engine just to test a trans! XD

I am tempted to try it with lumber, it is only 5 horse MAX after all.

I think the greatest challenge is the shaft adapter to bolt on the flywheel.
Just wondered if it had been done.

Tearing down my 40hp, removed the 1/2 side head, and saw that the PO forgot the wrist pin clips on the number one piston. Nice scoring of the piston and some neat cracking (?) to the lower portion of the cylinder. Building up a big bore 40, I'll post any other horrors I encounter, so far (thankfully) this is the only one.

Yup, I do believe you're correct! Suppose the oil will make the inside swell shut?

I thought I had seen something like that before. The line looks more like that from a compression tester than a brake line. If it's made up of good oil hose with quality crimps, it should be just fine.

It is certainly worthy of a cleaner install, though.

Hmm, bad fuel tank or 'you can never have enough filtration' syndrome?
Also wonder if any of them cause vapor-lock or were used to 'cure' it?

Actually looks like four fenders total. That sweeping rear flare is rear-fenderesque, and the weld seam just in front of the saddle.
