I was torquing on my clutch pressure plate to 17 lbs and I snapped a bolt. What size are the bolts that attaches the pressure plate to a 12 volt flywheel ? There are 6 of them.
I was able to turn it through to the other side of the flywheel, and what was left fell out. I would rather know the bolt size before I go to the hardware store as I have been burned with wrong bolts before.
Thanks !

8X 1.25 The Hardware Store usually has a Sample Nut and Bolt display so people like you and I can just show up with a Bolt and thread it into the display to find out what size it is.

I don't have one in front of me, but I would guess the thread portion is around 20mm long. Can you take one of the other Bolt's with you to the Store?

It was 20mm. They fit great. Thank you for you help. For the record, if someone searches this site. Pressure plate bolt size: M8x1.25x20mm

According to Volksbolts Air-Cooled clutch bolts are M8x20mm
Std thread which is 1.25pitch.

You need a High Tensile part so go for a 10:9 or 12:9 grade.

Some Type4 engines use an unusual M7 bolt. Volksbolts stock these in 12:9 grade.
