Loving this build and the new color choice! How about adding a set of Airkewld wheels? They make some really awesome stuff.

I'd love to add a set of Airkewld Wheels, but for now that isn't in my budget. Those and disc brakes are definitely something that I plan to add in the future though.

Right now, I'm just going to use my stock 8 spoke's and powder coat the spokes orange, should look pretty good.

Update on the paint....$1800/Gallon. Looks like I'm going to find an alternate orange.

Here are a few pics of the front end installation.

Everyone have a good one. Hope to have the tires on, air hooked up and a testing video posted this weekend.

No work on Sunday though. GO 49ERS. Can't believe it's been 18 years.

Your new color is a great choice, I got a buddy who painted his car a similar color [HOK tangelo pearl] on his '70. It looks fantastic, specially in the sun. This car is top notch, custom all the way.

@jhicken Thanks for those pics, that is exactly the color that I'm looking for. I went to talk to a PPG rep at T&H Paints in Carson City yesterday and he mixed me up a color to take home and spray on something to get an idea of what I picked.

Probably spray a motorcycle helmet to see what it is like. I'll post more pics as soon as I get it sprayed.

Pete's car is House of Kolor Tangelo Pearl if you want to compare.

After I seen your post, that is what I compared it too. My buddy went to the Grand National Roadster Show this past weekend and picked me up all of the HOK information. Great Stuff.

I miss going to that show, after moving east, it's one of my regrets. Lead East is pretty dam cool for customs, however it doesn't compare to the Grand National.

Ahhhhh....Time for another update for you.

Well, the rolling chassis is about 98% complete. Only thing left is to powder coat the E-Brake handle and Shifter Rod and get that stuff installed. Also need to adjust the front camber on the passenger tire.

I actually bought the paint and painted a little toy bug and it looks amazing.

The last time this bug will be blue. On the way to get sandblasted.

Got it back and found quite a bit of history with the sand blast. Front clip was replaced and you can see where some of the old dents were. Luckily I was able to talk to the previous owner that had it a mere 23 years ago and he told me everything. Front was backed into by a semi, he shaved all the chrome and blinkers. Car has been painted a total of 5 times since he and I have had it...he is a body man.

I put the tires on, hooked up the air ride and as Pete at Airkewld says.... Rock Bottom

These are my old tires and rims. I'll be painting the spokes of the wheels to match the car and putting 145/15 up front. Going to take off those crazy center caps too.

Lastly, here is the video of the air ride in action. Front doesn't have a ton of weight on it so I pushed it down with my foot.

Hope you enjoy, I know that I am.

Just wanted to let you all know that this thread is not dead. Looking to get the body painted over the Christmas holiday. Keep your eyes out for a lot more updates.

Project deadline is April 2014

Any updates.. One other question did you cut your spring plates or notch your swing arms for more clearance when air out?
