What do you used to lube the hinges on the front hood/windshield? Since they are horizontal and right on the paint I am hesitant to use something that may run. I am wondering if I go with some triflow spray or like two small drops of syn oil.

The door hinges were much easier since they are vertical and I am able to take them off and lube the pins with a synthetic grease (plus they have grease caps).

Heavy oil, like gear oil, in a needle bottle or a hobby syringe.

If you don't have gear oil, you could also just use a drop or two of motor oil, like the owner's manual says, just don't fill it up, it will spray all over the side of the car when you drive it. Don't ask how I know...
I do like the Captain's idea of gear oil and will try that next time.
