Hey all, I’m looking to run a 34 pict carb and early 6 volt generator on a 13-1600 type engine in a 6 volt beetle. What needs to be done to the carb to make it work with the 6 volt and which generator stand do I need to work with the 90mm generator? Many thanks in advance!

I'm not sure if the cutoff solenoid will work at 6 volt but the choke is a simple swap for the 6 volt unit. I'm not sure I've seen a 6 volt cutoff available?

A common thing back in the day for the solenoid was that people would simply chop the plunger off, and leave power to them disconnected when they failed, and run-on was rarely an issue on a properly tuned engine.

These days you can buy an adjustable boost regulator to power 12 volt things from 6 volts. eBay or Amazon.
One of those could easily power a 12 volt choke and a 12 volt shutoff solenoid from 6 volts. Just install it somewhere dry and cool.
