The left side was much the same as the right, rear corner rusted out and beat up and full of bog. Vents were bent, twisted and split. Off it comes...
The front section of the left wheel arch was hacked open and was caved in. Photo doesn't show it very well. Was lucky enough to get an original section to repair this... Still needs to be finished off and the lower section repairing but much better

Small repair on the left side D pillar...
Outriggers and inner sill welded in on the left side...
Getting the lower C pillar clamped and tacked...
Trial fitting the rear cargo door and side panel to see how everything lines up...
Getting the rear corner sorted with the side panel clamped in place. Painted in behind the rear corner before it was welded in place and tail light hole is cut...

I think I'm going to have a similar thing on the 12V tray I have for my 66 - was what you did to pul the corner radius in so that the outer edge would sit flush against the inside of the side of the rear corner? |

Yes that is correct, I ran a cut off wheel around the radius and tacked it in place until I was happy with how the shape fit the inside of the rear corner |

Excellent job on the roof. That's how it's supposed to be done! I'm a big fan of using 3M panel bond with a spot welder. I'm curious, though, since you spotted the roof in, why not spot the other similar areas? _________________ Robert in Memphis

Brilliant thanks. I've been tapping mine with a hammer to try to avoid cutting but in reality it's just making it all a bit out of shape on the top.
Did you also do the Mike Fn Garage method of tack welding along the top edge rather than punching and welding along the flange? |

No I marked the top and bottom, pulled it out and drilled holes around the corner and plug welded from the outside |

Some work on the passenger side B pillar. The Klassic Fab inner pillar didn't have this little pressing. My OCD kicked in so I transferred if from the OG panel onto the new one...
Also the front section of the new B pillar didn't have the door striker adjustment ribs. So I measured off the old one and transferred it to the KF one...
The window frame rot on the passenger side cut out and repaired...

Engine lid stripped and then a quick sandblast in the areas which were showing signs of rust. All cut out and repaired...

Engine lid hanger welded in place. The top edge was rusty so made up two new sections and got them welded in and dressed up.
Hope everyone has a good Christmas and gets a break. Looking forward to getting this build thread up to date and getting cracking on the bus again.

Rear hatch stripped and sandblasted. Some paint on the inside before the skin got welded in place...

Cargo door side B pillar fitted and welded up. This was a tricky repair as I had to redo both hinge mounts. The autocraft skin required some tweaks to the hinge mount as it was nearly 4mm out of alignment. Happy with the outcome, still some grinding to finish off...

Need to get this build up to date as I approach the 12 month mark of the build. Short side is on. Paint and weld through primer in the structure and inside of the skin. Some excess glue to clean off and welds to grind...

Left side battery tray and splash panel welded in. This battery tray required a little more re shaping then the right side but I forgot to get pics.
