Thank you, yes projects like this absorb a lot of time but will definitely be worth the effort.

Pop out glasses installed today under the aircon. Too hot in the shed today. Clamps helped line up the screws and went together very nicely. Just the outer seal to finish but I’ll do them at a later date.

Some rear suspension work that’s been happening. Torsion housing/ spring plate work. Dummy transmission to get everything set up. Top shock mounts removed and getting ready to fabricate new mounts, bump stops etc. Piss coat of black is not final paint, just to make things nicer to work with while setting up.

Just about done with the shock mount/ bump stops for the rear suspension. These mounts have a 6mm plate on the inside of the chassis, m10 threaded and with nuts welded on for a good purchase. These we way more work then I’d like to admit but I’m happy with how they have turned out.

Kafer bar coming together. Another time consuming job with plenty of fabrication. Some critical placement to take into consideration, fuel tank outlet, starter motor and heater pipe clearance being the main items.
The diagonal arms I made from chromoly tube and clevises and tig welded by an engineer in town. Also had him tig the back side of my bump stop pads

Few progress shots of the 2.5inch narrowed beam I am building.

I designed the end plates and had a local business have them laser cut for me. These were a combination of a couple of end plate designs.

CSP adjusters fitted, new bushes installed for centre pin, welded back on and reamed.

Beam is almost done. Bump stop location moved down slightly to ensure the bump stop contacts with the most amount of surface area. Adjustable steering stops, steering dampener bracket fabricated to almost match an original. Shocks spaced and setup.

The sides of the roof had a low spot, assuming part of the stamping process. Light skim of filler to take care of this and some slight warping from welding.

Then a couple of coats of poly primer over the repairs. Blocked. Now have the whole roof into high build primer…

Long panel work continued. Got the bulk of the filler work done and got a good coat of poly primer on. Blocked that and fixed a few minor imperfections then touched up again for another round of blocking.

How did you bend that upper rear panel? Steam? Or did you wet it? I’d like to see your process.
