i recently bought a BOSCH 009 distributor and it doesn't seem to have the vacum advance that my stock distributor has. do they work on centrafuge or do i have the wrong thing. also, if it is ok to use do i cap off the line.

Yes it is centrifical advance, plug the vacume port and the timing is set different.8- 10 degrees BTDC (advanced) at idle or 28-32 engine revved up at about 2500 rpm

ooops Embarassed what I said still applies except timing it at the high RPM, time it at idle....

Yeah he's right but. Why did you get a 009 for your bus? Iv'e tried them just because I found them at junkyards and found that my bus didn't run as well with it and got worse gas milage.

Yeah, what was wrong with you old stock one, did the vaccume canister fail or ???

it is possible to take an 009, remove the point plate, and put the point plate and vacume canister off a stock dizzy in it, thus creating the so talked about SVDA...

I set my 009 at 32 advanced and it runs good with no pinging or overheating.
