I did a search with no luck and don't have a manual/diagram for this, but I need to know how to remove the emergency brake handle (early '55) since I'm painting the pan and replacing the cables. I removed the pin, but can't seem to lift the handle out (cables have been cut at rear drums). Thanks. |

Check out this link, it has a diagram/photo of the mechanics of the early oval emergency brake setup. You need to take off the front inspection cover located in between the front beam tubes, undo the 2 nuts holding the emergency brake cables and slide the push bar out which is holding the emergency brake handle down and in place. Good luck!
