Does anyone make/sell this rubber piece in the middle for these fuel senders? Mine has a hole in it, and when I fill up gas comes out of the hole, thanks.

Type of sender I have..

You might want to contact airhead parts since they do sell a repop
sending unit $26.75

they may have the boot to sell you..

No, it's not changeable. As you can see in the photo of it, it's attached to a metal disc that is crimped into place in the gauge housing. It's part of the manufacturing process that this crimp is done. Too bad the new one I got, as mentioned in the thread mentioned to above, it has a rubber boot that kinks and won't go all the way to the bottom.

Well that sucks, so I guess I'll chuck the one I have in the trash then.

How is the EIS one for $28?

Keep it for parts, you never know. I hardly ever throw anything away.
The EIS one is also mentioned in the thread above. There are a few issues with the boot itself.

Or, better still, don't.

Buying rubber from Airhead Parts (unless specified German) equals buying it again somewhere else in very short order.

For rubber, always go to West Coast Metric and Wolfsburg West first.

What do you think?

I have the EIS one in my car. 6 months. Seems to be above the standard quality I have seen on others which are plastic junk.

Yea I'm just looking for one that will last, how does the gas not eat away at the rubber anyway?

It might. If the rubber is fuel rated it should be fine. But I've run into many fuel rubber components that began breaking down...right about after 6 months.

That's the one I meant that the rubber boot kinks on me.

I bought the EIS sender last May and it seemed fine until my last gas fill-up.. I smelled gas driving home and sure enough there is a small hole in the rubber boot. Looks like 6+ months is the life span. Unhappy camper here.
