thought id start posting pics of my bus . ive been working on lowering it since i got it . i put a bug irs in the rear that im going to us hydraulics to adjust the spring plates . havent got that far yet though. went through a few ideas for the front and finally came up with this . its not done. still gona beef it up ,close up the hole in the middle of the tube and such but got it in the bus today and it works great. im using hydraulics to turn the torsion leaves.
i narrowed the beam 2" and put about 7degrees caster in it . the cylinders are the same ones the lowrider guys use to hop there impallas but i cut them down so i have only 3 " of stroke . i used 2 cylinders because to shifter rod has to go thru the center of the beam and i plane on using a rack and pinion steering so that will go thru the center as well. still some work to go but just wanted to share this . here are some pics of my bus. yes those are bullit holes in the windows.

Nice!
I'd be interested in seeing how you did the hydraulics for the rear suspension. _________________ © CJ Industries, Inc.

Sweet. I love me some hydro's.
You should stack cinder blocks in the rear corners so you can drive on three wheels. |

| If that was a limiting chain by the right rear wheel, I don't think it was doing its job. |

| Sorry , it won't three wheel. I live down a dirt road. I just need it to come up so that I can get to the pavment . The 2 cyl are connected. They act as one. |

im using mustang 2 rotors. i found the bearing part #s here on the samba so they slide right on the spindles . they needed a spacer made that slides on the spindle first before the inner bearing .the seal rides on the spacer so i didnt need to worry about the orginal place the seal rode on . i have corvette calipers that i want to use cause i have them . the rears will be no prob but the front a little more difficult. mainly because of the 14" wheels but I like the wheels |

heres a video of my first test of the front end. it doesnt have the new spindles on yet . thats tommorrow . i dont think ill be able to see it work to well after that . the bumper should touch the ground. still need flow controls to slow it down when it comes down.

i put the spindles back on tonight . it looks perfect. in the first pics i posted the front tires touched the front of the wheel well. that is what stopped it from going down any more but with the new spindles the bumper touches the ground and there is about 1/4" between the tire and foward wheel well. I love it!

In the event of a hydraulic failure, will it dump to the ground? What does that do to the inside of the beam? It looks crazy man. I like it. _________________ 62 Standard Type 2 (Nothing Fancy)
