Trip Speedo is coolest I think. Or Stainless inserts for the front air vent. _________________ "I spud therefore I yam." |

No pun intended, but air conditioning has to be the coolest. Especially considering it's one of the truly unique accessories the split windows didn't have. Most systems don't work any longer so a working AC is definitely unique. Other fairly unique items whether cool are not are:
*Automatic transmission
*Altitude compensator on the fuel injection
*Cold weather wrap on the pop top canvas
*Cab divider
*Chrome wheel trim rings
*Non walk-through front bench seat
*Headlight rock guards
*White spoke Westfalia hub caps
*Drive away tent
*The "1976 Bicentennial Edition" Westfalia with the US flag sticker on the pop top.
The bay window list is pretty short compared to split windows, but I'm sure there are others. _________________ "Well, we shot the line and we went for broke

Definately. I've never seen one with a black face for the later models or one in MPH but that's a keeper. _________________ '78 Westfalia CDN

ratwell sorry to ruin your day but there was a Euro black trip speedo and clock for sale in the classifieds for $95. I own 2 trip speedos for 69-72 Buses. _________________ "I spud therefore I yam." |

My day isn't ruined.
Read the ad again. That's the older style grey instrumentation not the later black style and he states that it's stamped 1973.
I've still never seen a black one or one in dual units. _________________ '78 Westfalia CDN

Better check again, dude. Older style has a big old gray center disk, which his does not. Also, 73 and later Buses had BLACK instrumentation.
This IS the later-style gauge cluster you've never seen... _________________ "I spud therefore I yam." |

Are there MPH trips or are they all KPH? _________________ Your Vanagon sucks, Stop waving at me.

There are both. I spent quite a few years looking for a 69-72 Trip Speedo and only found 2, both of which I bought. The 73-79 Trip speedo is only the second one I have seen. Both of them have been KPH. _________________ "I spud therefore I yam." |
