I searched to see if this has been discussed before. I can't seem to find a thread.

There is not much difference in price. I've been toying with a Sewfine carpet or a rubber mat from WW or Busdepot.

I really like the look of the carpet, but I'll be using my westy for camping and road trips. Not a show bus. I'm concerned the carpet won't take the the wear and tear as much as the rubber will.

I've only seen pictures of what the carpet looks like brand new. What do they look like once they've had some use?

I like the idea of the rubber because it's lower maintenance.

Rubber all the way!!!! My new mat is a year old and gets used and abused on a daily basis.... It has soo much sand, dirt, mud, whatever. Carpet would just suck that in, at least w rubber you can easily clean it and within minuets back to norm!

I used to have a lot of friends from BG growing up. I grew up all over the NW Suburbs. I graduated from Palatine High.

I'm living in the city. Just south of Evanston. Bot my sisters live out west.

I have a the fitted rubber mat over top of my carpet. Best of both worlds for when I want to switch.

Mat. Carpet always looks really disgusting and gets worn through in no time flat.

I have some rust holes to fix in mine, but I'm thinking about going with some spray on truck bed liner. What are opinions of that?

If the rust is dealt with properly first (cut out and weld in new metal where holes are and sand/clean/POR15 the rest) then you can truckbed liner your bus if you want.

I would put a rubber mat over the truckbed liner though Smile

Right now mine is the factory carpet, with a generic auto floor mat on it. I sure as hell wish I could find a new sage green front floor carpet. Confused

For you guys who put a rubber mat over carpet, do you find it cuts down on noise? Any other advantages?

we got mud and grass on our feet at the Niello run from parking in the upper field yesterday. It took less than a minute to sweep it out with a whisk broom. Carpet is too much of a pain in a bus.

Carpet is warmer and quieter. And if it gets really nasty or worn, I just cut a new piece to fit from the rolls of excess carpet I find from time to time.
