My 1951 karmann had the same original colors. The main body color is L72 dunkelbraun, a spilt convertible only color used until Sep 30, 1952.

The side panel color, L71 Beige, was continued as a body color on convertibles until Feb 28, 1953

Very cool color! Especially since it is split vert only. I will be returning my vert to the same color as well.

Thanks Will, you beat me to it posting the colours (paint codes) Smile

Do you have any more details on that interior - it's like nothing I've seen before - is it Kabriolet only too?

Cheers,

Dave

Unfortunately, they are off the car and very dirty at the moment...

They were original dealer-supplied accessories.

Thanks Rich - I'd completely forgotten you had those - I've never actually seen them. They are slightly different to the one in the photo above which shows vertical stripes but then yours is for a more 'modern' car Smile

Does anyone have any more photos of the dealer accessory seat cover options please?

Cheers,

Dave

Was nice to see this in the flesh last night. Its actually a lot better than the pictures suggest and will make a very nice car.

Some strange accident damage at the front but nothing too severe.

Glad my spare front panel found a good home!!

Good luck with the project.

Great find!

I'll be needing a rear seat too - and another front seat...

I'm having trouble working out where the extra part shown in the first picture is in the second - can you mark it somehow please?

I thought the heater channels were all the same for saloon and Kabriolets. I do still need to understand how the wring loom runs in relation to the heater channel - does anyone have any pictures of that please?

Pascal, if you have pictures or diagrams of the strengthened heater channel in a Heb please I'll post them. I'll PM you my address.

Cheers,

Dave

The wiring loom runs through a dedicated steel tube inside the right heater channel. It starts in the hood area in the right A pillar area and exits under the back seat near the battery.

Would be good to see a pic of that on a cab body with the heater channel bottom removed.

Yes please share that information of how the wiring loom is in the channel. I have to replace my loom and I can't for the life of me pull the loom out the front or out the back of the channel. A picture of how it's inserted in the lower "A" pillar would be extremely helpful.
