What I have researched at the first there were vert-only semas, then later was developed such a pocket which takes the sedan sema.
Here can be seen all the types have the sedan sema, then on the next line the vert-only version.

I'm guessing the profile is a little different lower down the B pillar, explaining the different version, were they the same size in hight though? _________________ When I think of something to say - I'll be the first to know

I think that is for the introduction of the zwitter kabriolet semaphore which appears to have come in towards the end of zwitter production in 1953. I’m not clear on the date.
