I feel the same about TS . It is a perfect place to archive and discuss such builds for future folks. I have literally hundreds of more photos I can share to this thread to keep that part of the dream alive. I will drop some in here and there.

I don' t think anyone can truly realize in advance how much work it would take to fix sooo many issues. You did some amazing work on this car.

Omg… Rite!!! This poor kar. Almost everything was a junk… I went out of my way to at least try to resurrect the Karmann Panels, even those need extensive reconstruction. ( with out a doubt, the worst condition to date) As I was going along I really realized that I better started cutting my hours to try to make the project make monetary sense. I had to dig deep to stay focused on the future. I did enjoy the hands on portion of the build, I feel good about what I was able to accomplish.

I appreciate the kinds words…

Stay tuned, I have a few more photo drops to make.
I personally rely often on forums and photos to help me in the werkshop. so i understand the importance of sharing experience and knowledge that pays it forward at the same time. 👊☑️

I love this thread, and the 47 build also. It's wonderful to follow and study the method of assessing and rebuilding such great cars that truly are almost too far gone. So great to see these cars resurrected, and I have learned a ton about sequence of operations, tooling, panel fit, etc. Thanks for taking the time to post it all here. If you ever wonder, no there is no such thing as too many pictures.

I believe they are here. Let me browse the thread and see. If not I have a couple. From what I recall all the effort on that so far was removing it from a donor dash, taking it down to metal by hand and preparation to weld to the project. I remember doing several test fits and trimming, I was also able to replace the weather strip retainer with a new one 👊
