this series of photos is great with the tools and all - almost NSFW - the talent and experience is amazing

^^^ Hey Brother^^^
Well my story starts with dune buggies and vw rat rods. I started building them almost thirty years ago now in my back yard with just a small flux core welder and a angle grinder and learning as I went along. Those where the only major tools I had for quite some time 😋
The next chapter of it was when I took a job at Bugformance Motorsports where I was future enough to learn and become their lead fabricator, I was there for about six years. During that time I took welding classes at the local college to dial in my understanding of metal and welding applications.
Fast forward a bit I was recruited to a large trucking company and I became their shop foreman in their fabrication department. I was able to learn so much from that job. Welding just about everything you can name with just about every welding application there is. I did that for a couple years until I took a add out on Craigslist offering mobile VW repair. It started off real quick and folks asked me to do stuff like build narrowed beams on the replace front and rear clips. I did this all mobile for a bit and then asked my employer if I could go part time so I could chase my dream of being self employed. That went on for a while I until I was so busy I quite that job and staring doing the work out of my garage at home.
That became so successful that it was time for me to open a shop. Somewhere along that way I stared using you tube to soak up everything it could on metal fabrication. At the same time I joined a website called “All metal shaping” I was able to interact and learn a lot from that forum. Next I was fortunate to meet to metal mentors that poured their knowledge and even equipment into my life.
To this day I try to keep my finger on the pulse by continuing to search out information online and within my circle of metal men.
Just diving in and doing it is the best way to learn. You got this man 👊

That's some real dedication building all of that metal back up. _________________ www.vwnos.com [email protected]
