Post up pictures of the hacks that have been done to your buggy body by PO's and how you fixed them with a final result.

I am talking about the rear cut out for a $ 12.00 cheap EMPI chrome air cleaner that rusts in 3 days. The hacked up dash to put in 1977 Ford Fairmont dash gauges. The cut out rear package trey/seat so they could access the tranny/engine bolts. Cut off fenders for tire clearance. Cut in half. Doors cut in. Hoods hacked for fuel filler. Lets see the horror photos.

And then post up your after fixes. Get detailed with a good description of how you fixed it or just post some pictures.

JoeCoolCustom - In your second picture down, I have forgotten what the two pieces bolted to the transmission rear mount are called and where to buy them. I need to fabricate an engine guard, and I can't seem to get motivated to make them myself.

Thanx,

I used very little filler, but I used Rage Gold where I did use some.

My buggy had no fuses anywhere, needed better grounding of lights, and some of the wiring might have actually been house wiring. I removed most of the worst problems, added a fuse box, ran a few new circuits and added better grounds. Now my lights are bright and reliable and my wipers work great. I should have rewired the entire car, but I tried to do the repairs between jobs and also tried not to have it unusable for more than a few days at a time.

The weather here is beautiful today ... I'm going for a ride!

When I see pics like this I don't feel too bad about the holes in my Rascal. They were all small outside of gauge holes in the dash. I lost count at 120.

Wow, that sure does sound a whole lot like a "fuse", or "Booby trap" or maybe a "Time bomb" configuration. Rolling Eyes Build a car, it's easy... Glad you survived it....

The worse part was the bedliner that was applied, then painted. Lucky for me it was over poorly applied primer, so most of it peeled off in sheets.

Jsp,
Maybe that hole was there to provide exhaust heat and CO poisoning when the PO got too frustrated to go on....

I guess I got awfully lucky. I travelled about 6hrs one way to get it. I paid $1800. Everything needed tlc. Brakes, brake lines, wiring, loose exhaust , adj valves, clean carbs etc. no holes to fix, nothing cut on. The only real problem is the 60 grit finish it has. The gel coat is shot and the metal flake is popping thru. I believe the PO didn't own a single tool, I wouldn't have it any other way.
