|
|
So I have a 64 notchback and I want to put the correct script on it.
Unfortunately the previous owner filled all the holes for the chrome trim and I have no real reference point. Any thoughts or ideas on how to proceed?
What is the distance from the handle to say the 1500 and then from there to the volkswagen script? are they centered? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Are you sure the holes are completely gone? How were they filled? Maybe you can see a trace of the holes from the backside? Just a thought... _________________ 1963 Karmann Ghia |

The guy definitely put in work to fill it the right way. He welded and bondoed the holes for the script on the rear decklid. It has been smoothed and painted as well ... so I was just thinking someone that has a notchback could give me some general measurements and that way I could get the holes and script at least in the ballpark. |

With them filled in with weld, you'll be better off moving the new holes slightly up from the old ones. That way you'll just be drilling thru sheetmetal, rather than thru a chunk of weld. I could see about getting you some numbers over the weekend off my 65 Notch. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof
