I need to remove my sons 67 doors and the hinges are secured with some rather large, painted over Philips head screws. I was able to remove only two on passenger side door. What is the secret to removing these beasts ? I really don't have a screwdriver big enough (not sure if even that would help), but I can get one if needed.

Thanks

Use a hand impact tool (one you whack with a hammer) and a #3 Phillips bit. http://www.harborfreight.com/impact-screwdriver-set-with-case-37530.html

That's the best way to do it.

The impact driver works but not 100% of the time. I have had to drill them out in the past.
