Went to bremerton raceway with some friends. my fastest time was 15.6 at 87.74 mph for the 1/4 mile.

installed a traction bar. had to move the external oil cooler. the bar clears the heater boxes and i installed it with the engine in. if any one has any questions on the installation ask away. it really helped with the wheel hop i had.

started to get a chirping sound from the engine. thought that the heads were starting to give up, but ended up being the intake base gaskets falling apart. i bought a set of type one intakes awhile ago to replace the shorty type 3 ones i was using, so those are going to go on and a new set of linkage. also some other things are going to change over the winter.

took the windshield out to replace the chrome trim. i was able to get it out with out cutting the seal and it went back in pretty easily. i got the new trim from cip1 and its good quality. looks way nicer then the original. i just started on the rear. i also got it out with out cutting the seal.

they are only a few years old so still playable. i pried the seal back inside the car and sprayed soapy water between the rubber flap and window frame. then at one of the top corners i pushed until i broke the seal. after the seal was broken it came out pretty easily. the rear was harder then the front to get out. took a bit more force.

That is great that COP1 is offering a quality repro for the windshield trim. When I did mine it was not available. My trim looked like yours. I used Mother's metal polish and worked on it for a while. It came out really nice - almost like new with a great shine. You may want to give it a try on your old trim rather than scrapping it.

i did try at least 3 different metal polishes on it be for and non of them really worked. i keep everything that is usable, some day it might be needed and could be professionally polished.

I dont think you can really polish them up unless you remove the anodizing first. I read oven cleaner works, I've used sandpaper starting with 220 ....to 600 and then 0000 steel wool and then metal polish. They come out good but the shine wont last like the anodized surface does.

set my mig welder up for aluminum. started practicing on a old oil pan so i can weld up the intake manifolds for porting.

After practicing a bit with welding aluminum i went ahead and welded the intake manifolds. then ported and polished them. tomorrow im going to buff them to make them look a bit nicer on the out side.

new manifolds are on and also a set of scat push pull linkage and k&n air cleaners. im not sure how much i like the linkage but it looks a lot nicer the the old set i had on there be for. it will do for now.
