those are the original trim pieces. i just cleaned them and used some polish on them. i think kgpr carries re-chromed pieces. i haven't bought any of there re-chromed trim so i couldn't tell you if its good or not. im sure some one here has and could chime in.

installed a cb performance black box. started it up today and began to play around with it and set the idle timing. its pretty cool. haven't really figured out how the rev-limiter and 2 step work though.

Well done Scotty, there respectable numbers, was it what you were expecting? Are you happy with the combo. I'm running a similar, except 1915cc and haven't yet taken for dyno tuning so this good info. Theres so little online feedback on the W130 and so far am happy with the W130 cam, you really feel it coming on.

i was hoping for a little bit more but the carbs only being 40s are the limiting factor. i know it has more in it if i put some bigger carbs on it. also the compression ratio set on the low side for the street. to get the most performance out of the w130 it should be up at 10:1. im happy with it to, you really can feel it coming on and it just keeps reving out.

I’ve seen the same stuff here in Australia in the local Repco store. What preparation does it need? I’m wondering if it might delaminate with small amount of wear. It does look good though.

All I did was wash the mats with hot water and soap. Then used a scotch bright scruff pad lightly and finally wiped them down with brake cleaner. I think I put about 3 coats each on them. Seems to be holding up well so far.

Awesome Job Scott, so amazing all the work that you did! I also am from Gig Harbor, now living in Seattle. Went to Gig Harbor High. Did you go to GHHS or Peninsula?

Just bought a 1970 Ghia. My grandparents are still down in Gig Harbor and I go visit them often. Would be great to meet up. I'm just beginning to start fixing thing and would be great knowing someone who's done it all before!

Here's a photo of mine:

First step new door seals and hooking up the heater cables (bought it from a Cali owner, they don't have those problems haha).
