Well, now; so how does this clean bear run?
My guess as to the rear floor mats is that the left one was for a '68 or earlier Ghia that had the seat rails spaced farther apart than '69 and on. Right one is '69 or later so that the indent is for the closer-spaced rail.

Would you post the spec of the engine please? _________________ The glory never gets old, just need new paint.

This was a 2109cc. 76mm welded crank, 94mm mahle pistons/cylinders, stock 311b rods, lightened flywheel, as41 case full flowed/welded behind #3, 30mm oil pump, berg deep sump, external oil cooler, w130 cam, light weight lifters, chromoly push rods, 1.1:1 stock rockers, berg elephant foot adjusters, berg bolt together rocker shafts, 42mmx37.5mm welded and ported vw heads, dual springs/chromoly retainers/hardened keepers, dual 40mm DCNF carbs with 36mm vents, 009 distributor with pertronics. Compression IIRC was around 8.5:1. _________________ 71 ghia coupe: Build thread http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=511738&highlight=

Sounds impressive! Just wanted to know what it takes to make such power out of Type 1 engine, cause Type 4 have the volume as default, needs just some of the ingredients to reach similar or higher power figures. _________________ The glory never gets old, just need new paint.

I guess you can say I restored mine too.
My DMV said I couldn’t paint it but I asked a cop that lives in the neighborhood and he said that as long as it’s still reflective at night it shouldn’t grab anyones attention. So I masked off the characters and painted it to match the car.
I’m still waiting for a ticket. _________________ Volkswagen!
