|
|
Hey All,
I'm on a kick to add some gauges to my dash -- I'm adding oil pressure, voltage, and I want to add one for fuel pressure (after FPR).
Buuut, I'm striking out in finding an electric fuel pressure gauge. Anyone out there found or is using one? _________________ Turbo 2276 MS3X build http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=673125

Waste of time to add it after the FPR. You want to see what it is putting out at the fuel rail.
I would not do it anyway. |

I have seen one mounted under the van by the fuel pump, where a quick glance could rule out a fuel supply issue. but you'd really really want to protect it from stones and sticks.
it's a very handy diagnostic tool to keep in a sealed container under the back seat.. for that once ina 1000 that some guy needs to know if it's working.. VW nicely provided a test port nipple in the engine bay for just such a rare need..
in the dash, no
after the FPR, no _________________

Yeah, I've seen the external one -- thats what gave me the idea -- theres nothing wrong with adding gauge right?
I'm redoing the fuel lines, so I was just gonna through in an inline pressure gauge in the line to one of the rails. _________________ Turbo 2276 MS3X build http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=673125

I would prefer not to have fuel under pressure at the dashboard when it is not needed. |

of course -- i was looking at a fuel gauge with an electric fuel sender. no extra fuel lines added. _________________ Turbo 2276 MS3X build http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=673125

You could double up the oil pressure gauge with a toggle between the sending unit from the engine oil and fuel line. That option should also work for temp gauges, as well...assuming what you want to double up operates within the same relative display range. _________________ Casey--

Perhaps you could use an oil pressure sender/gauge -- many gauges out there for 0-80 PSI which puts your spec fuel pressure in the readable area albeit below mid-range.
But I agree, not the next gauge I would go to -- that would be an oil temp gauge. |

wide band O2 would be far more useful. _________________
