When my high beams are on, my Tac drops to zero. I do have the GW headlight upgrade kit, however it has worked flawlessly for four years.

Any thoughts in samba land?

Thanks,
Mark

I fixed this problem by running running a ground directly from the ECU ground and the battery neg. I had completely cleaned up every conceivable ground in the entire known Vanagon universe, which did seem to help overall running issues. However I was still getting an occasional stumble/die with the high-beams on (i have the GW relay upgrade)- especially if it was in gear but stopped.

The voltmeter said the battery was fat and happy even though the engine said otherwise.

See if adding a decent-sized ground right back to the ECU doesn't fix it for you.
