well, today i loaded my engine up in our truck to take it to storage. it was just down the street so i thought it would be ok, but i guess not. i was almost there when some woman decided it would be a good idea to pull out in front of me. i had to put on the brakes and my engine made a fast trip to the front of the truck bed and messed up my oil cooler. Does it look like it can still be used or not?

| Take it to a radiator shop and have them pressure test it. If it doesn't leak and it fits, then you'll probably be good. If it doesn't pass either of those tests, then looks like you've got some money going out of pocket to help reinforce the important lesson you learned today. |

New one's are around $80. If the radiator shop test is pretty cheap, it's probably worth it.

That would be a chance I personally would not take.
Any cooler that was in place during an engine failure was filled with oil mixed with bits of shredded metal. Tough to clean to 100% certainty.
Now, I have had to go used with my type-3. There are no more new type-3 coolers, so used is all their is.

| i'll just bite the bullet and get a new one, i've had some other things happen to cost me more money thanks to the PO and i wouldn't trust a used one from a engine i have no information about. CB Performance sells one for $50, so i might just give them a call .Thanks guys |
