Hi guys
got a yellow 68 sunroof that's fairly stock.
it's such a good car, I don't want to trade for a pre67 one, but I prefer the old looks.
instead of swapping out the fenders, hood, etc I'd prefer to find a way to make my 68 look more vintage without putting pre67 parts on.
anyone got nice pictures of +67 bugs that look vintage or draw attention due to nice lowering, old school wheels, roof rack, etc.. maybe I see things that could be usefull.
for instance, I like this one, this one has a nice look :

Here is my 68 with a 2" narrowed/adjustable beam and 2 1/2" dropped spindles. Front is about 2.75"-3.0" lower than stock and the back is approx. 2" lower.

Vintage that is an interesting shade of yellow. Look blueish to me. _________________ Volkswagen: We tune what we drive.

He never said that was a picture of his yellow 68. He was using that picture as an example of what he is looking towards for inspiration. _________________ Current VW's= 2013 Tiguan, 1968 Bug |

I think that the larger bumpers and a roof rack make the bugs look pretty vintage... or cool haha it's hard to distinguish between them. _________________ My bug build:

Off Topic, so I apologize in advance, but where did you get the clear turn signal covers from? |
I am curious too, but I don't believe that is his car. _________________ Current VW's= 2013 Tiguan, 1968 Bug |

nice looking bug, but will it ever look like this (my wife's '59):
things you can try:
1) use early peanut turn signals
2) use early taillights
3) two tone paint
4) roof rack
5) lowered suspension
6) solid stock style wheels
7) early blade bumpers (I've got a pair if you need them)
It won't be perfect, but it might be close enough for some... _________________ '65 Karmann Ghia 'vert

isn't clear in the picture, but did you cut holes in the early fenders to fit the bumpers? |

Yep. These are aftermarket fiberglass fenders (I hate them) and the same would have to be done to early metal ones. |
