You could cruise over to the Bremerton Bug Nationals after the Shoreline meet and camp there.

I have to agree with the camping facilities (or lack thereof). I'm not much of a racer and I didn't pay much attention to them but there was a swapmeet and car show. In fact, I ended up winning a best in class (Just don't know which class). Came back from visiting some friends and found a trophy on my hood. Laughing

To be honest there wasn't a lot of heavy hitters in the show so it's a great chance for the "little guy" to pick something up.

If you're looking for a camping opportunity have you checked out the Camp and Cruise up in Mt Baker? They have the entire Excelsior group camp site reserved. Room for 40 cars and around 100 people. All dubbers!

last year was one of the biggest turn out for bremerton and it still sucked
i would like to get something going for the seattle area like a campout or something
i know some of the eastern wash guys would like that and i think most of the westside guys would too
barely a 1/3 of the people from burgermeet and vintage go to bremerton anyways

Kinda sucks that camping isn't allowed in the Shoreline parking lot. I can imagine cruising in from BurgerMaster, setting up camp and having a bit of a party. Liability issues most likely.

empiracer put together a campout in the Issaquah Highlands several years ago. Maybe he can be convinced to do a repeat.

There is no camping allowed in the lot please. The last thing we need is the school pissed at us.
Peter did his thing a couple years ago and I think Clara did some camp outs in Snohomish a few times. Unfortunately, there aren't any parks that allow camping in the Shoreline area. (we have looked)
Camping would be a great addition to the weekend though!

Btw, the Solar event which has taken place the same day as Vintage for the last two years finally had enough of the old German fossil fuel burners and changed the date of their show! That means plenty of parking. Cool

We camped in the Shoreline parking lot several years in a row back in the 90's, but one time there were folks who couldn't handle the freedom and it got ruined for the rest of us. Oh well.

Coming from this side, it would be nice to find a place to camp that didn't require another hour or two of driving, especially in Friday evening traffic. We already drove 5-6 hours to get to Burger Meet. Stayed in Bothel a couple of years ago, that was nice. But it was a private home type of thing, not a campground. Luckily, my wife's best friend lives out near Alki, so I usually just stay there. Heading up 99 at 6 AM on Saturday is usually just a nice cruise, with no Seattle traffic.

Planning to be there again this year. Missed it last year. I was 2000 miles East.

what about a ferry ride away?
Fay Bainbridge State Park‎
15446 Sunrise Drive Northeast
Bainbridge Island, Washington 98110

http://goo.gl/maps/QuDy

Thats my idea...google suggests taking the bainbridge island ferry out of seattle, but then you have to deal with the city traffic.

if we leave shoreline CC, head north via back roads, a ferry is about 10 minutes north, take the edmonds kingston ferry across the water, and then head SOUTH about 30 minutes minutes and enjoy camping on a penisula like state park....

either that, or fort warden, about an hour NORTH, AFTER the shoreline show. thats where i am headed with the family to camp out in port townsend area during the centrum Jazz Festival. (GREAT camping, and lots of places to explore and learn about history a bit) and did i mention the AMAZING views?

just saying....

never been to Fay Bainbridge State Park‎, but maybe its worth a shot if yall dont mind about 20-30 bucks for a good (well worth it) 30 minute ferry ride (someone take pictures when we cross for the ferry thread ;P) and some outdoor camping.

FYI, Fay Bainbridge has since been transferred to the Bainbridge Island Metro Park & Recreation District. No that really changes much. It's a nice place. Only 10 miles from where I live.

Traffic in Seattle isn't all that bad early Saturday morning. Things to consider is the ferry schedule. You'd have to take a 0520 or 0705 Ferry in order to get to Shoreline when the gate opens for Swappers and show cars. I usually take the Kingston 0625 and get there in plenty of time. Problem with ferries is if you miss one, you'll generally have to wait an hour for the next one.

The problem with camping on the Peninsula is that you would incur the ferry expense on Friday if you attend the BurgerMeat and then again for the Shoreline event
