Ok, I tried the search but didn't find anything, which actually surprised me.

I have a pretty good condition late type 3 bumper, and am in need of a front bumper for my 72. Has anybody actually used a type 3 bumper on their Ghia? What modifications did you have to make. It looks like there is approx a 5" difference in the distance between bumper brackets.

Again, if you have done this swap, let me know what you did, how it went and if you are happy with the results.

I'd be interested in knowing as well need both bumpets for a 72 without luck and want to stay original but if a beetle or type 3 can be modified I'd love to know.

Looking at the parts book... 315 707 103A is the front bumper from 1972 and 311 707 303 is the part number for the rear bumper.

Those are both Type 3 part numbers.
Try it see

I am using a type 3 rear bumper while mine is away getting fixed. It kind of fits but is short on the side.
