Google chrome is available now for iPad/iPhone. Anyone tried using that to upload?

Good news I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to geico! Jk Very Happy

No really I wanted to test this out as I was curious no one had really posted in this topic since about July! The good news is I just did this entire post via iPhone! Took pic, uploaded to samba, copied link and put on this post with no help of a computer and using only safari as my web browser!
So it seems now with iOS 6 it is now possible to post pictures!

Yes, Nice feature for sure. But as you can see from some of the photos in my gallery that I uploaded using my iPhone 5 with iOS 6.0.1 and Safari only, the orientation information is lost during the upload, so some of my images are upside down.

Have to remember to take landscape pics with volume buttons on the bottom to avoid this.

Another nice feature of iPhone is you can multiselect pictures after clicking the "select picture" button only once....

Yes, I have seen a few images uploaded "wrong" recently.

Thanks for the heads-up.

I will look into making the site auto-rotate any images as the orientation of the image is supposedly stored within the image data.

It does work from Chrome, and it's free.

For images after jan 3 right ?
You throw away that data once the pic is uploaded?

Yes, that photo is before Jan. 3rd and I can see it was shrunk down so the "rotation" info embedded in the image is probably gone now.

I did not go back and check for images to rotate.

You can re-upload that if you want...

No stress. I post pictures of any damn thing anyway.
It's already linked to a forum post.

Not like its some rare Mauser bowl or something.

Nobody own a droid? Seems prejudiced to only discss Apple. Perhaps I am late to the party, but I tried uploading a camera shot from my Droid. Simply opened the Samba in my internet browser v 2.3.5 that came standard on my phone, and added the pic just like I would from my pc. No need to even re-size the image.

Works just as well as uploading from the PC. Cutting off the front and rear bumpers was operator error, not computer error by the way. Just thought you may want to know.

Yes, there was no discussion about Droids because those worked fine as delivered.

It kinda works the same way for Ipads/Iphones as it does for a PC.

To summarize what I do:

When you arrive at the home page of the site, select the "add photo" button on the gallery drop-down menu, sign in, upload the photo as described in this thread: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6

Then when you want to use the pics in a post (using safari), you would need to open up two tabs. One tab you will use to look up the img code for the pics, and the other tab will be used to write the post.

In the tab you are going to use to write the post, click the "post reply" button (log in again if you need to), then when you arrive at the message box switch over to the 2nd tab.

In the 2nd tab, go to the gallery (you don't have to log in with this tab) and pull up the picture that you want to include in a post. Then "select all" of the "forum img link" and copy it.

Then switch back over to the 1st tab (that you are writing the post with) and paste the img code in the message box in between the [img][/img] and that's it. Use this process to put more pics in your post (if needed) and add comments and post.

IF you are having trouble with pictures being upside down when posted... The is a orientation issue with Iphones and windows and browsers.... Simple solution is turn phone over....

That is weird as it should be posting JPG files and this should not be an issue.

Feel free to email me the photo and I can check it out.

What are you using to resize the photo on your Android?

I just used crop and resize built into my phone. I'm having a lot of issues in general but I'm sure its because I'm using a droid 4 With android OS. I need to get a pc i guess and wifi one day when its in my area.....I'm having a few issues with this website on any smart phone i use. here is a example......... imI'm going to type a senctencesentence and show you what it does as type. DidntDidn't even make it once sencente before it did it... see the errors not created by me as i type? any solution?solutions ...Lol tried to erase the second questiin mark and it added word again instead. Does this on all droid 4 i have tried it on and many other phones..... iI have to constantly fix errors not created by me. And if iI try to erase it either won't let me do anything else(freezes but not the screen just where i can type on your page) as i erase it changes the word. Adds variests or jumps to end of typing. as iI try to erase it adds words to what im erasing.. . Makes me look like a idiot even tho its not me or my phone causing the errors.I've spent hours on phone with tech support for them to say its the website.
