I have had my westy for just over 2 years and it is incredible! We have two young baby's, so the camping has been minimal so far, but the feeling that I have driving it is indescribable. Some people laugh at it, others love it, and others don't know what to think about it. It is awesome. Wish there was more of a vw community in Memphis, but there is not much, hopefully my westy ownership will spread. Would like to participate in a meetup trip, but nothing close. _________________ 1989 Westfalia (Wolfram Gray)(Mona)

If you weren't 400 miles away....... Looks like there's at least four Samba contributors here in East Tennessee. My kids will soon be 10,8 and 6 so day trips are alot easier than they used to be. _________________ Imagine that, theres not an "h" in either Westfalia or Syncro? |

Hey, now, Western Kentucky resident here. If you guys hear of decent van for sale in these parts, let me know. I've been patiently searching for the right one for some time. |

Memphis here as well.
85 Savannah Beige Metallic (Gold) Vanagon
Had it for about 11+ years now
I've attended EveryBus for many years, and do a good bit of camping in the Western TN / Eastern AR and N Mississippi areas.

I live in San Francisco but my Vanagon originated in Tennessee and spent many years in Pittsburgh, PA before moving out west. I even drove it through Tennessee on the cross country drive _________________ Daily Drivers Only

Hello Tennessee (and area) Vanagon folk.
My wife, daughter and I relocated to Chattanooga a year ago and are enjoying living in what is now our favorite place in the world. The Westy has transitioned well over the years from a full-time abode for more than a decade to now a base camp vehicle for day, weekend and longer (but still short) trips around the region. We enjoyed a lot of nights camping in the Smokies/Blue Ridge this Summer and some time on the beach in the cooler season this year. TN is a great location for accessing cooler country in the Summer and warmer in the Winter via Westy.
The kinks are all worked out on the van so I don't log in here too often but we are headed out for a beach trip tomorrow which lead me to The Samba and noticing this thread. If you see an old Brown/Orange air cooled Westy around Chattanooga it's probably us, be sure to say hello.
