I am having troubles with my motor idling high once it gets warmed up. I am pretty sure it is the linkage. I have done all of the necessary adjustments to the motor including carb syncing, timing, valves etc. It has been running great on short runs during cooler temps. It seems once I run it on the highway to town and then get to slower town speeds and stop signs, the idle is way up. If I get out and take a look at the idle adjustment screws the plates are not quite resting on the screws. I can pull up the linkage to set the plates properly but then I drive a little while longer and it seems to stick again. My theory is that when the engine gets heated up the linkage parts expand and bind a little. I have adjusted the linkage when the engine is warm but am still having problems. Any thoughts?? I am running Weber 44's with CB linkage, all brand new.

Your carbs may be binding slightly due to the heat, or its as you say, in the linkage somewhere _________________ Aust. RHD 66 Type 1

Common problem with a throttle cable thats adjusted to tight, try backing it off a little. |
