I have these very short front shock absorbers, and would like some input as to what they fit. Some Split beetle friends of mine thought they looked "too short" to be late split beetle.
they appear to be NOS, with VW part number 111 413 031 cast into the housing, so i am presuming they are later replacements for earlier parts.
Approximate measurements (center to center of bolt hole):
fully compressed: 5 7/8" (150mm)
fully expanded: 7 3/4" (200mm)

thanks for any help.

Googling the part number I found:

10/52 - 1965 ("G" Suffix)

Does look shorter than the '52-'65 one though

great, thanks for the info. it was suggested to me at a show that they were pre'49, i just wanted some confirmation. no way they are 52-65, way, way too short for that.
