I'm working on a Bus for the first time ever.
I really don't know what I'm doing but hope it comes out good.
I've had several Beetles but this is the first Bus i've ever had my hands on. Started out with a California car(bus) Originally Chianti Red/Pastell White. when I picked it up it had Original Paint (or what was left of it). Very straight bogy and only rust on it was under the bottom of the windshield. I personally would have left it original paint but this Bus is being built for someone else so it's being painted. It ran pretty good so we sent it to Old Speed for minor mechanicals, electrical, brakes, and a slight lowering and then it went straight to Ek Auto in Gardena for paint. I'm currently redoing the the Interior at Erwin's Upholstery in Long Beach.

It looked great with the original paint and fuchs rims. Nice find, I would have just covered it in lacquer and done the weatherstrip!

Part of a Zee products folding bed conversion, you also need the hinges for the rear seat.

Nice looking bus, I liked it before but it does look good with fresh paint as well.

By "original paint" do people mean what looks like paint patches, primer and patina Laughing ? Looks great now! This makes me anxious for my last couple panels to arrive so I can get back to work.

Honestly I'm not sure exactly what a paint job like this would
normally go for. EK Auto is in Gardena. You should talk to Josh
he's going to be famous. He has several best paint awards at
shows. If your looking for a paint get over there soon, as soon
As word gets out this guy is going to the top.

The paint a base coat clear coat PPG paint
I believe it would be about 6-7k price range
The bus had very little damage and the only
Rust was under the windshield

Well just as promised, the Bus was ready today for pickup. Now I'm worried. I moved the Bus over to the interior shop for interior of course but I'm also faced with putting this thing back together. Honestly i don't know what to do. I mean, i can do the interior and putting pieces back on like taillights, turn signals, headlight bezels, etc. But i have no idea how to put the door pieces back in and I'm hoping i can figure out how to pu the dash back together and hopefully all the screws came back because we all know how difficult it is finding the right screws. Oh well, I'm going out of town for a week and when i get back I'll dig in. For now here's some picture updates.
