Beautiful workmanship and color combination is stunning. Are those actual heat seams I'm seeing on the door cards? Maybe already discussed here. Very hard to find someone who has that capability. You have an exceptional vehicle. _________________ Rick Christensen

I think it's a discussion to have with your body guy. The exterior rocker sheet metal is fairly simple but behind that things get more complicated. The reproduction sheet metal is expensive but so is skilled professional time, as you have said. |
I had preliminary discussion with him and he said that it's so much faster (eventually cheaper& easier too) to use ready-made pieces it doesn't make sense to make them by yourself.
He didn't have time earlier than next winter anyway, so no hurry to decide anything yet. _________________ Kharon -- '62 typ1, '63 typ14, '61 typ21, '65 typ34, '74 412, '75 typ26

Hi Everyone, I would like some help if possible. I am trying to sort the interior out for my T34 karmann ghia, which originally had a teak interior, however at some point it was taken out and fitted with a red interior or (pigalle clone). Unfortunately not one scrap of original material under the red seat coverings.
I am keen to bring back to original teak. Problem is there is no fabric available.
I have contacted SMS fabrics, Le Baron Bonney & Martrim, they would organise to have woven if i can give them a sample piece of fabric, regardless of colour. I have other remnants of the teak brown material under some other parts which I would supple to match the colour.
Question, does anyone have a piece or sample fabric that could be used to replicate the weave regardless of colour? I do not expect anyone to remove or damage their existing interior!
This may also be an opportunity for others wanting to obtain replacement material for their car in other colours aswell.

Is there already reproduction available for left tierod inner ball joint for '65.
I think that as my t34 is quite low I could also use the typ3 version or is there a problem to use the type-3 part in the t34. _________________ -58 Typ2 ambulance

I joined the T34 club recently. 20 years in the making I finally have the one T34 I always wanted. It needs a LOT of work! This was Corky Yager's car. I wish that he would have let me put it in storage for him years ago. I don't know yet what all is missing. It still isn't in my possession, but soon. My dad was kind enough to go down and take pics of the load up removing the car from Sunray Bugs. Here are some pics from then. More to come!

OK, wait, stop the presses.
Anyone notice this ad?

Look at the foglights- or where they should be.
Is this a factory variant? (Pun intended). I've never seen anything like this before. I'm 2300 miles away from my parts books at the moment, too.
If it's not a factory stamping it's an authentic looking fake. Info? _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

There's M275 "cover for foglights benelux countries", but I don't think it would look like that! |

Agreed. They appear to be a factory blank. _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.
