I have searched and read and have found some good pics on front door panels regarding the placement and number of screws but I need to know how far from the edge of the panel are the screws set? Pictures below are borrowed from the gallery, Thanks. I am guessing they are about 1/2" in from edge? I have welded up the old holes because I had about two extra sets and all were increased in size or in rough shape. Any help is appreciated.

Hold you panel up to the door, then peak behind it to see how much room is the shortest distance of door metal to panel edge. Panels may be different sizes, so just be consistent with the spacing and your washer gets a good grab of the panel. 1/2" is about right.

What about tracing your door panel on a piece of cardboard.
Cut it out. Place on door. Use an awl to locate the holes (by penetrating the cardboard) and then lay it on your door panel to mark it.
Just a thought.

Thanks everyone I have a good idea now. when I bought the panels from Clara She began to tell me how to do it but I figured after telling twenty people before me I'd save her the breath. I should have let her tell me. Wink

Clara is right! Locations of factory drilled holes vary. Maybe a thread on locations by year thread?
