I'm having some trouble getting my idle adjust speed up.

On a 34-Pict-3 the idle speed adjust screw (the large copper screw on the left)

Which way do I turn to speed up the idle, CW or CCW? How many turns before I notice a change in the RPM's?

CCW... when you open it up it flows more air through the idle circuit and should pick up RPM.

The effect ought to be almost immediate, however if the carb is dirty inside (very fine particles can pass through the filters ans accumulate in the passages of the carb.) then the adjusting screws can become ineffective. Then it's time to get a carb kit, pull the carb off and give it a good cleaning. Use carb cleaner, AND compressed air to blow out all the passages, or you'll have to do it again soon! Jeremy
