We are kicking this off early this year, it looks like this will be another banner year so start planning early!

Check out http://www.allaircooledgathering.com for more details about all the events planned for this year.

==================

Last year we had over 150 camping and at party in the clubhouse on Saturday night, and over 300 cars on the show field [all air-cooled! No water!!!] on Sunday.

==================

This year our spotlight will be on splitty buses [pre '68] and for every bus that shows, each will receive a unique memento of the event. We are expecting a huge turnout so this will be one not to miss!

==================

Highlights for this year are:

"The Voice of VW Drag racing" Dyno Don Chamberlin will be back again with us.

The a pin striping legend, Charlie "The One Armed Bandit" Decker, will be painting again on site. If you are interested in having your car, tool box, skateboard or girlfriend striped, email for a reservation [[email protected]]. His time is limited so sign up early.

More Valve Cover Racing, bring your own or race one of ours.

"Dub Push Kompetition" This is another call for all local clubs to participate in the coveted Dub Push Kompetition. Do you have the stones to push your club to victory? This will be the fourth year and the team to beat is the Central Jersey Volkswagen Society. The kompetition is fierce, but the prize is the "Dub Push Cup!" You club name will be engraved for prosperity and you will take possession of the cup for a year to return in 2013 to defend your title. We understand if your club is not up for the challenge, not every club is worthy Wink

A boatload of events for the kids, coloring contests, VW Twister, Herbie Bean Bag Toss and of course the bouncy castle will be back again!

==================

So come on out to one of the best shows in the northeast

Click http://www.allaircooledgathering.com/images/AACG_flyer_2012.pdf to download a flier, or call Jeffrey at 908-377-5577 if you have any questions.

Prosperity? How much is the prize for first?

How about a longest distance traveled to the show award? It would HAVE to be in an air-cooled VW and verified that the journey was made to attend the show, not visit aunt Meg and the family, and of course no trailer queens. This would be a much treasured award, in my opinion.

The winners plaques were great last year. Much better than the posters from previous years, again just my opinion.

I've been recruiting new sprinters for the New England/South Philly Van club Bug push team that dethroned the previous year's winners last year.

We've been talking about a long distance award, I'll let you know what we decide.

As for the awards, we have something pretty cool and very different planned for this year. I'm sure everyone will want one! Last year we were supposed to do a third poster, the last in the series [a Ghia], unfortunately mother nature intervened and our printer shut down because of storm damage. The plaques were a last minute thing. We needed to get something quick, but didn't want to do your traditional award. I'm glad you liked it.

In addition to these limitations, maybe the award should also require the car be a blue convertible beetle? If that's too restrictive, maybe also allow mango buses or any year double door bus. Wink

Love this show, can't wait.

Hopefully get to make it this year for once. I do not believe we have any races on this date so maybe I can get the front engine dragster up there?

Now....seeing as these push drags are highly competitive, maybe I can rent the car to someone to use as their vehicle of choice? Laughing Sure is light weight at under 2000 pounds

The title of the thread is wrong.....it is 2012 now, not 2011.

I can't wait for this show, it is always great!

I know it's still a ways until the show but I would like to offer the use of my place for any one who needs it for breakdown repairs etc. I know some of you are traveling pretty far to get here. I'm only about 15 minutes tops from here & have a decently equiped private shop at my home.

I should add that I don't have parts, just a shop & tools.
