My ghia came with the wire wheels covers. Just curious what your thoughts are on which look better.

Stock hubcaps with stock trim rings. Those wire hubcaps are a JC Whitney special!

Yes, very weird. When I saw the pics before I bought it I thought 'ugly'. The wheels have strangely grown on me. My family is split.

Nothing looks better on a Ghia then the stock hub cabs and the (rare $) Lemmerz trim rings. Reminds me of a Porsche 356.

Just my 2 ¢.

You Brits don't realise that this exact style was standard on some of the most awful looking Buick and Oldsmobile cars of the late 1970's/early 1980's... I can't see them enhancing the elegant looks of any Karmann Ghia (let alone a lowlight Cabriolet!) in any way. Rolling Eyes

Although the wire covers look "ok", the originals look classier and more expensive in my opinion.

I like them both. There's no law that says you can't run both sets, switching them out when you see fit. Hell, I'd run rusty, crusty OG four lugs with no caps as long as I got to drive my Ghia. Just my opinion. Cool

I don't even think real wire knock off wheels look good on a Ghia

I'm more into the stock hubcap compared to the wire wheel covers... and even more so if the center VW symbol is painted.

Most of the GM wire wheel covers bolt on with a security nut that requires a special tool to remove. You have to first pop off the emblem in the center of the cover, then use the tool to remove the security nut which is attached to a threaded adapter that bolts to the wheel itself. See the top right of the image.

They look like my corvair wire wheels with GM knockoffs. A bad look on a Corvair and a Ghia... Just my opinion..

With the "rounded" style of the KG body I think that wires just don't look right. Absolutely great on a TR-4 or an Alpine, but there not anywhere near as rounded as the KG.
